My Approach

My approach is collaborative, trauma informed, and strengths based. This means that we will work together to determine what is bringing you into therapy, what you want to change, and how to get there. Some of the frameworks that I draw from include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, attachment theory, and parts work (ego state therapy and/or internal family systems).

The way that sessions look will depend largely on what you hope to gain from therapy. Depending on your needs and goals, we may explore the impact of the past on the present, focus on addressing present day challenges, or some combination of the two. As a systems therapist, I aim to be mindful and curious about the impact of relational and sociocultural contexts on my clients, including experiences of oppression.
